On the moon

Standalone artwork in conjunction with False awakening. This piece is a notable turn in my artistic exploration, since it's at that point (2013) that I realized I really enjoy working with recycled material. The canvas for this work is a styrofoam plate from a frozen pizza.

Game development tuesday

I made a flyer for Bitraf, Oslo's coolest hackerspace! What is a hacker space you ask? bitraf.no It's like a club where we do anything and everything related to video games, electronics, technology, art and whatever other cool stuff we want to do. It has nothing to do with "hacking" like it is portrayed in mainstream media, the term "hacking" refer to "hacking things together", as in DIY, though the sound of rapid clicking on keyboards is often heard in our offices. :P

The design of this flyer was inspired by the missigno glitch from the pokemon games, I used it's colours as a base and a glitchy theme.

False awakening still frame being exhibited at Galleri Ramfjord, Oslo

You may now view one of my artworks at Galleri Ramfjord, in Oslo. Info at Juvenarte It's exhibit runs from 26-29. september, 2013.

False Awakening is a multimedia project spanning many forms, it started as a childrens book project, then became a graphic novel, then a series of paintings, before taking the direction as an interactive narrative in the form of a video game. It follows a small, doll like character on her adventures to come to terms with various fears. The adventure is heavily centered around dreams and the subconscious, and is being created to cover a multilayered narrative. The exploration of the project is open and experimental.

This is a copy of the artwork being displayed at Galleri Ramfjord. It is edited and canvas printed for the exhibition, but I will not be making any more of this one, leaving it a unique artwork. The canvas print is for sale at 4000 kr. It will be up for sale at the exhibition, but you may email me if you are interested in buying it from me but cannot make the exhibition.

Ludum Dare game jam result

I participated in the ludum dare game jam with the hacker space Bitraf in oslo. We didn't manage to get the game working in time, but here are the assets I drew for it. The game jam only lasted 2 days.
The game was supposed to be about the life of a horse-fly, (the green eyed bug) They slice open human skin to lick their blood, so the arm is the "boss" if you like. Dragonflies are casual enemies to be avoided.
The game was supposed to have a funny control mechanism where you control the wings independently, thus making it hard and funny to steer. I still like this concept, so I may work further on it in the future sometime.

Pokemon Fanart

Did this after I saw the new pokemon "Mewthree" (might not be it's real name) But it sure made me nostalgic, so I celebrated that nostalgia in this fan art. Random fact: I actually overlaid a glitched version of this artwork as the texture for this artwork. Infinite regress! (there is also a noise filter)

Encounter

I constructed a slightly different scene with elements of my main project, for the purpose of print.

Dream 26.01.2013 Skyrim, Argonian

Unfinished rendition of dream.

Full dream below. Short version
(Click on the links to see the inspiration source for some items.)

I find myself in a new age (myst). A large donut shaped island with a lot of snowy forest and some ruins. I can see an overview map in my head. As I slowly approach, more trees become visible and the dream looks less like the myst chanellwood age and more and more like skyrim. I see some balloons tied to bushes and many interesting colourful things. I wonder who's birthday they are for? I decide not to approach the empty forest birthday party and explore cautiously in the opposite direction. On the ground amongst the bushes I find a dead man with a sword. The sword is longer than my arm, not so heavy and silvery angular. It has a green symbol on it that I perceive as very beautiful. This indicates it has some kind of magical properties. At this point I have become my character from skyrim, an argonian. I approach a fortress, there are many people inside, they live there. They have fires and warm houses and food. There are guards patrolling the walls of the fortress. I am cautious, though these people are nice, I know they will turn hostile if they see my sword. I think I give the sword away, or people take the sword from me. I turn invisible and steal it back, they don't know it is me who have taken it, but as I leave they realize and they start chasing me. Though I can conjure demons and turn invisible, they manage to chase. I suspect this is because I leave footprints in the snow, so instead of running I spring from tree to tree at an unrealistically high speed. But as the trees drop snow when I hit them, the people are able to follow.

Death in videogames

I did this piece originally for a uni project where we had to select articles and illustrate them, here is an updated version. I chose the article on The Escapist called "Death in videogames".
