Dream creature: Dynamic arcana

This here being is from my dream from a month or so back. In this dream, I found myself in a world where many strange creatures were, and they were called "arcanas" This is a shapeshifter arcana, quite selfexplanatory. Though that llama look is it's base form. There were dynamic arcanas and static arcanas as well. The dynamic arcana could move and attack physically, and the static arcana were things like statues and masks, but could usually fire energy beams or other such non physical magic.
A dynamic and static arcana could combine to form a powerful creature, where the dynamic arcana would carry the static arcana.

I find myself in a surreal magic world, it seems suspended above a dark void, and the sky is a dark red orange. I have a friend with me. There are some unspecific buildings and bridges between floating landscape. An odd llama like humanoid with a porcelain mask for a face is there, i perceive it to be a "shapeshifter arcana" as part of this specific dream's lore.

Additionally an old hooded lady sits on a stone bridge, I ask her if she is Time. (she looked like death)
"Yes, give me a coin?" she asks. We give her a coin. My friend then started loosing teeth (aging), and people slowed down and sped up as they walked past us. She took our time when we gave her money (dream logic says: time is money)
"are you two the same person?" I ask the shapeshifter arcana.
"Ha, ha, No... That is not how it works" it says.

I don't recall much more of the dream.

Slenderman Uni Project

This is my Interpretation of the legendary creepypasta Slender man, the favourite horror story on the internet that people still believe in!

Slenderman is often though of as a paranormal being who snatches people away if he is witnessed, so if you see him, you have to pretend not to see or somehow erase your memory if you hope to live. He is characterised as a tall and slender figure with limited or no facial features and many arms or tentacle like appendages. 

I like the idea of a slenderman that not only murders/rapes, but actually does damage to society as a whole by puppeteering important individuals like politicians, this is why I associate slenderman to webs and strings as well. The cruel thing, is if he were to puppet people, noone could do anything about it, thus putting more pressure on the situation where if you DO spot him, you SHOULD report to authorities, but would you at the cost of your own life?

So Hide yo kids, Hide you wife, Hide yo kids, Hide yo wife. cus he's rapin' errybody out there.

So instead of doing work this weekend I discovered the leaked 1.8 version of minecraft... and then my world was taken over by vines. 

I did actually spend quite a few hours doing none minecraft things though, like watching more of those awesome tutorials from Feng Zhu. I'm at episode 12 part 3 now, it is proving immensely useful, and once again I recommend anyone doing visual communication look at those rather than play minecraft, even though it is amazingly fun.

I'm debating whether to tweak the right hand's pose, it seems to be a bit of a grapple. I thought I'd push the background back into the image, but now I want to bring it forward!

Amazing tutorial series on concept art for games!

This series of tutorials teach about making good design paintings for the entertainment inustries, both in the subject and presenting. I highly recommend you look at it. I haven't been through them all as I'm currently on episode 7 (and each episode is about 2-4 youtube videos) but so far it has already inflluenced me.
The guy who makes them is called Feng Zhu (youtube channel FZDSCHOOL) and you can see the first tutorial embedded below:

Slenderman Uni Project

Below you see version 4 of my Slenderman scetch.

It is a work in progress for my uni summer project. It is themed "urban legends and myth" and I chose slenderman. He may not be a "real" legend, but people actually believe in him, or did, anyway. He is a very fascinating subject.

I like the idea of a slenderman whom, once you see, will hunt you down, but If you pretend not to notice and go on with your business, you may just convince him you didn't see and you can get lucky and live to tell the tale. Whatever business he's up to, I'd like it to be more complicated, sinister and mysterious than just plain old murdering/raping people, so i would love to add to the sort of lore surrounding him. Like if he actually puppeteers humans to make them do horrible things, or even take on a politician to do damage to society as a whole. I think that would put more pressure on the situation if you were to see him, because you "should" do something about it, like report to authorities, yet the moment you admit to seeing him, you are most likely going to die.

What i'm doing with the picture here, is try to get a good composition, while leading the viewers eye to allways return to slender man. I'm not quite there yet, would love to hear some feedback on this. I added the tree to cover up parts of the foreground to give the viewer a sense of being in the shot, and thus have reason to be unnerved. I would love some feedback on weither you find this makes it more or less unnerving. The lamp is for light and size reference. If you were to guess, how tall does slenderman seem to be, and do you think the perspective is ok? Any other feedback is welcome, but I barely begun the process of rendeing, but you can comment on that too if you want.
