Desucon Quest competition winner announced!

Back in 28.06.2014, I walked around as a quest giver at Desucon, a cosplay convention. People who completed my quest got a balloon and a business card as a reward, with a chance to enter a raffle for a free sketch.
Boosterspice was the winner, (they successfully found Waldo in the convention) and requested a Steampunk machine for their sketch. I look forward to the next event!

Speedpainting forest fire creature

I have been streaming twice weekly lately, and aim to do a speedpainting every wednesday. The picture was drawn from a photograph I took of a bonfire some years ago, obviously I added the dragon creature. I chose this for studying colour and smoke, while I also need more familiarity with the forest.

Due to the time limit of the initial deadline for my videogame project, I'm going about the creation of assets and other materials somewhat untraditionally. It is more of a freeform art exploration than the strict and sensible concepting I'm used to from formal projects. You know the one: draw a bunch of concept thumbnails  pick the best one, polish. I have to create enough assets to initially have a complete game world, so my first tries are also my final tries, and my accidents are all happy. When the uni project ends, I'm free to revise and recreate anything for the actual making of this game however. I find  this laid back creation process quite liberating and enjoyable.

This is a small acrylic painting that I upped the contras on in photoshop, to give it a more modern horror feel with all it's grey static high contrast creepyness. Modern horror films have replaced lightning strikes with static tv's I think.

Procrastidragon!

Procrastinating IN uni today, by doing unrelated art experimentation! Deadline tomorrow! (Better than playing minecraft?) Also made some photo.....things....something about exposuring light on magic paper and putting it in liquids and images happen. (no computers involved!) I don't even. I forgot those photo magics in uni so you have to wait until tomorrow to see them. Meanwhile: dragon.

Leopard eyes

I made this in my last uni project, though this isn’t the final. It was a musing about the leopard spots looking like eyes when I had to draw realistic looking leopards for my own take on a WWF campaign.

Book Project Result

Latest uni project. It was about childrens books. I made these double page spreads based on a videogame I want to make someday. It is dream related. The material I used is watercolour on Gesso.

Slenderman Uni Project

This is my Interpretation of the legendary creepypasta Slender man, the favourite horror story on the internet that people still believe in!

Slenderman is often though of as a paranormal being who snatches people away if he is witnessed, so if you see him, you have to pretend not to see or somehow erase your memory if you hope to live. He is characterised as a tall and slender figure with limited or no facial features and many arms or tentacle like appendages. 

I like the idea of a slenderman that not only murders/rapes, but actually does damage to society as a whole by puppeteering important individuals like politicians, this is why I associate slenderman to webs and strings as well. The cruel thing, is if he were to puppet people, noone could do anything about it, thus putting more pressure on the situation where if you DO spot him, you SHOULD report to authorities, but would you at the cost of your own life?

So Hide yo kids, Hide you wife, Hide yo kids, Hide yo wife. cus he's rapin' errybody out there.
